I had to have a moment to mourn. And in that moment, I made a decision, a decision not to give in to anguish or give up on a dream.
Once my head was above water, I thought about some of the faces of "no".

"Don’t worry when someone curses you for no reason. Nothing bad will happen. Such words are like birds that fly past and never stop." Proverbs 26:2 ERV

First, he reminded me his words to us are for correction, instruction, and encouragement. Kinder words in a rejection may not have gotten enough of my attention to make a difference. The Lord also reminded me of the power and responsibility of my own words.
I'm thankful the psalmist gave us a prayer to infuse grace into our words. "May my spoken words and unspoken thoughts be pleasing even to you, O Lord my Rock and my Redeemer." Proverbs 19:14 TLB
How have you seen the power of words displayed lately?
This week I'll be hanging out with Crystal, Mary, and Holley. I hope you'll join me.
