I'm so thankful Jesus has chosen me to share His good news! There's so much to share. I hope you will hang out with me during the Fridays leading up to Easter. I'm not sure where this journey will take us, but I'm trusting God's calling (even though it may feel like He's pushing and shoving sometimes). Thanks for letting me step a little further into your world.
Much to John's astonishment, Jesus chose to be baptized. "The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, “Look, the Lamb of God. He takes away the sins of the world!" (John 1:29 ERV)
Why would Jesus choose to be baptized? Perhaps He wanted a particular event to mark the start of His ministry. We can only speculate.
Along His path, Jesus chose several unlikely people. Didn't we sing the song about Zacchaeus in Sunday School? He was a tax collector, and evidently not a reputable one. And yet, " When Jesus came to where Zacchaeus was, he looked up and saw him in the tree. Jesus said, “Zacchaeus, hurry! Come down! I must stay at your house today.” (Luke 19:5 ERV)
What about the "black widow" Samaritan woman? Jesus crossed enough politically incorrect lines to make plaid. He chose her to spread the good news to the town of Sychar: "The people said to the woman, “First we believed in Jesus because of what you told us. But now we believe because we heard him ourselves. We know now that he really is the one who will save the world.”(John 4:42 ERV)
The most unlikely situations and people, but Jesus still chose them.
I love today's title picture! ANYONE can be chosen to be on the team. Team Jesus, that is. He's not concerned with our outward appearances. Jesus looks deep within. Sure, He sees the wounds and scars. He knows some of them are self-inflicted by our sin. But, He sees so much more.

Practice is over and the first pitch has been thrown. You've been chosen. It's time to suit up and hit the field!
