Perhaps like many of you, I'm a work in progress. I like to think of myself as a lifelong learner. All too often, I feel like a lifelong SLOW learner.
I've got a God-sized dream. It's still distilling, but it's there. Being only slightly OCD, I usually have a plan to accompany a purpose. And I'm all about systems.

No, not that kind of platform!
"In other words, a platform is your tribe. People who share your passion and want to hear from like-minded people." Michael Hyatt
Since begining, I've had some pretty good advice and assistance from the home team. (Thanks, James and Mary!) Recently, I've been trying to become a little more independent. Researching, experimenting, trying to push the right buttons (sometimes with great hesitation). I've read "how-to's" and checklists.
But, guess what? You got it! Sometimes, I totally missed the mark on my expectations. Oh, there have been some strategies that generated short-term spikes. Others involved a little tweaking. And a few, at least in my book, were definite "no way, Jose!"
In trying to build a platform to pursue my God-sized dream of sharing the love, hope and forgiveness of Jesus Christ with at risk and urban kids, I discovered joy in sharing with you! I love taking moments and microcosms, and turning them into encouragement!
And this is where I flat out missed it. It's easy for me to get caught up in wanting thousands of Tweeps, and thousands of Facebook friends, and thousands of page Likes, and thousands of blog views. That's what my vain flesh cries out for.
What works for me is to dig a little deeper, more often than I may think is needed. Take a closer look at what my God-sized dream has become. Is it about numbers or individuals? What works for me is to remember if I go (after God's will), He will grow (it's fruits).
What's your God-sized dream? Has it bloomed into something a little different? As you've pursued it, have their been times when you've flat out missed it?
