These days, the most challenging part of being a writer for me is promoting and marketing my books. Dear Reader, it's absolutely painful for me! It's not that I don't believe what and who I write for; I'm passionate about both.
Perhaps not passionate enough.
16 One day as Jesus was walking along the shores of the Sea of Galilee, he saw Simon and his brother Andrew fishing with nets, for they were commercial fishermen.
17 Jesus called out to them, “Come, follow me! And I will make you fishermen for the souls of men!” 18 At once they left their nets and went along with him.
19 A little farther up the beach, he saw Zebedee’s sons, James and John, in a boat mending their nets. 20 He called them too, and immediately they left their father Zebedee in the boat with the hired men and went with him.

We've recently purchased new cars. Can't you hear the salesmen as they assured us, "Have I got a deal for you,"? You've heard the pitch, haven't you? Something too good to be true offered at a nominal price.
Let's just think about that for a moment, Dear Reader. In some ways, isn't that exactly what Jesus does? He offers forgiveness, grace, hope, love beyond our wildest dreams, and our nominal price? To say yes.

Jesus and the eleven who came when He said, "I want you", started a revolution that set the world on fire. And they did it without printed text, cell phones, Internet, etc. The disciples definitely got more than they bargained for when they followed Jesus.
Yes, Dear Reader, I know most of the disciples met with gruesome deaths. They led nomadic lives of poverty. How could they have possibly kept the faith without sharing Jesus's passion for His children?
What are you passionate about, Dear Reader?
You did not choose me; I chose you and appointed you to go and bear much fruit, the kind of fruit that endures. And so the Father will give you whatever you ask of him in my name.

What powerful women of God they are! The candid faith journeys of Lois, and Michele, and Anita inspire and challenge me. The wisdom of Jeanne and Joanne blesses me with refreshing insights. Ordinary people, like the guys beside the sea, who took Jesus up on the deal of a lifetime.
Dear Reader, I hope you said "yes" to Jesus when He came to you and said, "Have I got a deal for you." I pray your deal of a lifetime has sparked a passion you had never imagined.
