Your letter couldn't have arrived at a better time! The attacks have begun, but not like anything we had prepared for. Snipers ad guerilla warfare seek to beseige us.
We thought the overt persecution of the Romans was horrific, and it is. But this invasion is like poison seeping into our bread and wine, subtle and almost undetectable at first, but no less deadly.
Save some by snatching them as from the very flames of hell itself. And as for others, help them to find the Lord by being kind to them, but be careful that you yourselves aren’t pulled along into their sins. Hate every trace of their sin while being merciful to them as sinners.
Jude 1: 23 TLB

It is so easy to become discouraged by stains upon the Church and its people. But there's good news, Dear Reader.
First, no matter how crazy the world may get, the Lord has promised never to forsake us (Matthew 28: 20). Next, Jesus is still in the business of seeking and saving the lost (John 3:16).
And the best news ever: God wins (Revelation 21: 1-4)!
Dear Reader, let's take comfort from Jude's reminder that there's nothing new under the sun. God's still in control, and He's never surprised by the actions of man.
