Instead, God reaches His glorious hand down into the muck and mire of our sin to lift us out. Our hands and hearts are too slippery with the grime of sin to grasp His hand, and He knows it.
4 But God, who is rich in mercy, out of the great love with which he loved us, 5 even when we were dead through our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), 6 and raised us up with him, and made us sit with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, 7 that in the coming ages he might show the immeasurable riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.
Ephesians 2:4-7 RSV

Sometimes we are glacially slow to recognize the glory of God's grace, and even slower to embrace it. Praise God His glorious immeasurable riches include patience.
No matter how long or short of a time we are stuck in the muck, grime makes us all equal in God's eyes. The same can be said of grace. Our Heavenly Father is the Creator of "equal opportunity". We can thank God that no matter how thick our grime may be, His grace is always enough to cover it.
Dear Reader, please know that no matter where you may have been or where you are now, God's hand and promise are sure. Only He can, and will, take us from grime to grace no matter how deep or how often.
God's "immeasurable riches of grace" are the gifts that keep on giving. Maybe it's time for all of us to head on over to the showers of his grace.
