Dear Aunt Nell,
It's that time of year when I start searching for just the right photo to share with family and friends in holiday greetings. I love looking at family pics, don't you?

Dear Aunt Nell,
With the holidays just around the corner, I can't help but think about our delicious southern family dinners. In my recollection, all of our dinners were reasons for thanksgiving. Time and distance have changed a lot about Thanksgiving for us, but one thing hasn't changed for me... Dear Aunt Nell,
Tom and I tried to be so practical when we were planning and downsizing for the move to our new home. At the time it seemed like we'd covered as many bases as possible. So much for best-laid plans. Dear Aunt Nell,
Tom and I are excited to hitting the road again for a vacation in Colorado! For years we've flown. It took years for Tom to let go of the wheel, but he finally figured out flying definitely has it advantages, except maybe this year... Dear Aunt Nell,
The holiday season will soon be upon us. I love the holidays, don't you? But before the more festive holidays, our family has several other celebrations. Dear Aunt Nell,
Several of my friends have said they stopped checking social media because in our currently crazy world, it's so negative. I guess that's true a lot of times. But more often than not, social media gives me the boost I need. Like this week... Dear Reader,
You are invited to join me for a new way to reflect on the world around me. Perhaps together we can discover common interests, joys, and concerns in letters to Aunt Nell. Sincerely, Alice Dear Reader, do you remember when we had pen pals? We actually sat with pen and paper to write and learn about someone in the distance.
I remember how excited I was to learn in second grade that I could write a letter or postcard, send it to someone I loved, and they would send one back. Maybe because of their rarity, I am still thrilled to receive a handwritten message in the mail. How about you? My first correspondence was with my Aunt Nell. She was an RN at a veteran's hospital in Florida. I invite you to share mundane and miraculous moments with Aunt Nell and me. |
