As a new blogger, I've been trying to look at trends in the number of views. 'Course doing that can either bolster or bombard your ego, depending on the day.
Like most bloggers, I obviously want to grow my audience. And guess what? Recently, the posts with these American icons have had the most views; that's what they have in common, at least in my world. Their wide appeal cast a shadow in my direction.
Now, what do I do with that? Ask anyone who knows me even a little, and they'll tell you I'm no athlete. I probably couldn't name a dozen professional players if the house depended on it, so if something has accidentally appealed to athletes or their fans, I'm thrilled!
The Grinch is another story (the animated version, of course). What's not to love? It's fun, and funny. The music is memorable. The colors are amazing. And if you want to get serious for a minute, "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" is a story of redemption.
I started blogging with only one goal in mind: build a platform for selling my first book, Life with Bobby and Bonnie. Hopefully, some of you have purchased a copy to enjoy with a child in your life. (Please take a couple of minutes after reading my book to share your candid review on Amazon.com.)
My book is how I'm reaching out to kids, especially at risk kids. But this is what I've discovered about myself: I love reaching out to you! It is such pleasure and delight (ok, downright fun) for me to mix up a batch of humor, sentiment and perhaps a little insight, with you in mind.
Thank you so much for letting me share with you! I'll try to keep tabs on what you like, and hope you'll keep coming by.
