I just love this picture of my babies, tall and small! I deliberately cropped out James' face because I thought his hands said "love" loud and clear. Gracie's outstretched hands speak volumes about trust.
As soon as I captured the moment, I thought it epitomized the human condition. I think most of us spend our lives trying to connect with others in one way or another. Sometimes the connections don't quite happen, and sometimes they turn out to not be in our best interest. But we still seem to strive to make them anyway.
For the ones who are truly blessed, there comes a time when we realize even the best human connections leave a huge gaping hole down deep inside of us. The doubly blessed realize the only way to fill the hole is to reach out and connect with the Lord of the universe.
