I love writing for and to you. Although the conversation is mostly one sided, it almost feels like we're pen pals. But I also love writing for and about kids. One part of that dream is to spend time with other writers, learning from them and sharing with them at the upcoming Colorado Christian Writers' Conference. (Shhh! Dream Part B for next week is to connect with a traditional publishing house.)
To get ready for the big adventure, I've been researching publishers and the publishing process. I've lost count of how many times I've asked myself how badly do I want this. Dear Friend, the main thing I've learned so far is if I want my next book published by a traditional house, it's going to take a lot of work, and patience.
Have you had to ask yourself lately how badly you want to make your dream come true? How hard are you willing to work and wait for it?
We are so blessed and can rejoice in the Lord's faithfulness. The writer of Psalms encourages us, "Wait for and confidently expect the Lord; Be strong and let your heart take courage; Yes, wait for and confidently expect the Lord." (Psalm 27:14 AMP)
So, go ahead! Dream big! Dream big, and "With every step you take, think about what he wants, and he will help you go the right way." (Proverbs 3:6) Expect the Lord to show up in the most unexpected and wonderful ways to guide and bless you. Even if your dream turns out a little different than you expected, I promise it will be better than you dared to hope.
