I planted a few flower bulbs this spring. As I hoed the soil, I found a few old, dried up bulbs that never bloomed. Still I hoed, pulled weeds, dropped in new bulbs...
My dearest brother John,
How good to hear from you! And how kind of you to caution us against the con men who are trying to infiltrate gatherings of believers.
I can't believe what some of these "snake oil salesmen" are spewing! They are so slimey coming into groups of the brethren like they're so humble, believing in the truth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Just when you think they're such an asset to the group...Whamo!
I love music! Beach Boy, bossa nova, bluegrass, Boston Pops. What's not to love about music. And I love the way music can express my feelings and thoughts.
How did you know? How did you know exactly the encouragement I needed? Some days I feel so overwhelmed, so burdened that I don't know which way is up.
It's not that I don't love the work. And I think you know the passion I have for this new fellowship of believers. In all honesty though, I'm sure there are still plenty of times you'd like to give me a smack upside the head and tell me to get a grip.
Don’t you just love spring and the early weeks of summer! After the stark gray and white of winter, the pops of color encourage and enliven our spirits. Or, at least most of the colors.
I did everything they demanded, Still there was no release. Now, they had raised the ransom. My brain was blazing with frustration. My heart was racing toward panic. Time was crucial.
I was being held hostage, and time had become my enemy.
This spring I heard a pastor expound on the reason for Jesus’s crucifixion in a Palm Sunday worship service. He talked about the political unrest in and around Galilee at the time.
It's hard to live in the shadows. It's hard to try and understand the person you have committed your life to when there are so many missing pieces from his life before he met you. And when his dream is greater than anything you could imagine, how do you keep up?
