“Papa! What was that sound? Is our house falling down?” Bonnie asked, looking frightened.
“I don’t think so, Bonnie,” Papa reassured her, as Mama wrapped her arms around Bonnie.
Bobby, on the other hand, was always ready to explore. “Papa, can we go outside and look around?”
“I think we better wait until the storm is over, then we’ll take a look.” Papa replied.
Story books were left behind as the Bunny family watched from windows as tree branches danced a thunderous ballet, gradually slowing down until they drooped as though they were tired. The buckets of rain dwindled to sprinkles.
“Can we go out and see what the big crash was now?” Bobby asked.
“Hold on, Bitty Bunny!” Mama answered, using her special name for the twins. “Let’s wait a few more minutes…”
