The autumn leaves of red and gold
I see your lips, the summer kisses
The sunburned hands I used to hold
Since you went away the days grow long
And soon I'll hear old winter's song
But I miss you most of all my darling
When autumn leaves start to fall

This is the tree in our front yard: spectacular every year! We look forward to its glory every fall. We don't look forward to dozens of bushels of leaves to rake shortly after enjoying our tree's magnificent foliage. That's kind of like life, isn't it? Seasons of exuberance and exhilaration rotating with times of disappointment or discouragement. Isn't God amazing to know just how much of each we need in order to become our best selves!
