This OCD couple shops once a month and nearly always with a list. Shopping without one was painful. And then Tom blew me away.
Dear Reader, I literally stopped in my tracks. I had just come from having my nails done, a luxury I began indulging in this fall. Hadn't he noticed that I didn't remove the polish from my nails anymore?
I looked at Tom, and asked him, "What do you mean, what about cotton balls?"
Tom wasn't asking about remover and cotton balls for me, but for Gracie. What?
Since Tom likes my nails long and manicured, he doesn't seem to mind taking the polish off of Gracie's nails. (This may be the point, Dear Reader, when you ask yourself, "Does Girl have any idea how good she's got it?")
This was a lesson in humility, but the Lord had an even bigger lesson to teach/remind me: He really does care about anything we care about. And He notices everything!
Look at the birds: they do not plant seeds, gather a harvest and put it in barns; yet your Father in heaven takes care of them! Aren't you worth much more than birds?
Matthew 6:26 GNT
How has God used the menial to remind you of His great care lately, Dear Reader? Has He put something of little consequence in your hands to show His care to others? May we both seek and share the Lord's goodness, no matter how great or small, to those around us.
