Don’t look for shortcuts to God. The market is flooded with surefire, easygoing formulas for a successful life that can be practiced in your spare time. Don’t fall for that stuff, even though crowds of people do. The way to life—to God!—is vigorous and requires total attention.

Not long into the hold up, I was surprised to see drivers start down an entrance ramp to the highway, then stop and try to back up. There were some who angled over to the right-hand lane then did u-turns so they could head back up the ramps.
Eventually, police arrived and blocked the ramps until roadblocks could be put into place. Believe it or not, there were a few who still insisted on going back up the ramps and skirting the roadblocks. Wowzers!
Maybe I was just a big chicken, but neither a car accident nor citation were risks I was willing to take. That day I think I made a good choice by just sitting tight.

Proverbs 21:2 ERV
