I was looking for the perfect gift for her. A gift to convey at least a portion of my admiration of her.
It led me to Called to Edify. Al and Tona's story and the ministries they support inspired me. And then I took a look at their products. There, among many cool items, was the perfect gift for my young friend.
And maybe they had something more.
“Get [skillful and godly] wisdom! Acquire understanding [actively seek spiritual discernment, mature comprehension, and logical interpretation]!

Too many times I have allowed frustration over few resources to overcome trust that the Lord will provide what is needed. Have I allowed that to stymie my dream?
Or perhaps, I lack obedience and the something more, discernment. I ask myself which must come first, obedience or discernment. The answer seems to dangle just beyond my grasp.
When desperation drives me to my knees, our Lord graciously draws my heart and eyes back to His Word. Yes, He calls us to seek wisdom, understanding, discernment. He doesn't expect us to find it on our own.
If you want favor with both God and man, and a reputation for good judgment and common sense, then trust the Lord completely; don’t ever trust yourself. 6 In everything you do, put God first, and he will direct you and crown your efforts with success.
