It really did seem like a good plan to shop for the church school supply drive. Except for one little detail...
Dear Reader, have you shopped for school supplies lately? It's as crazy as Black Friday.
My girls were fabulous! They were patient and didn't ask for a single thing. Nevertheless, I was getting frustrated by not locating the exact items on the supply list.
I was looking back and forth between the list and the supply bins when I felt a light touch on my arm.
"Excuse me. Are you looking for markers like these?" she asked.
If there had been room in the aisle, Dear Reader, I'd have hugged this sweet angel of mercy around the neck!
In not quite "perfect" English, she told me where to find them. She had me repeat her instructions, pointed in the direction of the right bin, and watched to make sure I headed the right way.
Dear Reader, that brief holy moment with my fellow shopper totally turned my day around. The knot in my spirit began to relax into a smile and prayer that someone would show her the same kindness she showed me.
Has someone's light touch or kind words turned your day around, Dear Reader? Have you offer a touch or word to someone a bit frazzled? Either way, I am convinced that the Lord smiled in the midst of your holy moment.
