Mary and I don't typically write in the same genre. We have different callings to write, and that's okay, too. She's very good at multi-tasking and working on multiple projects at once, but me, not so much.
Don't get me wrong, I'm crazy in love with our granddaughters, but sometimes I crave a quiet visit with my daughter. I'll have a checklist of things I want to catch up on with her, but as soon as the door opens and one of the girls bounces in with the sheer joy of family, my list goes out the window.
I knew Mary had a project in the works and a tight deadline. Bad Mom, I totally forgot to ask about completion, satisfaction, launch, etc.
Dear Reader, have you recalled an encounter minutes or days afterwards and wanted to smack yourself upside the head? There it was. It was literally in my hands...and I missed it.
I'm hopeful Mary will forgive me for missing our holy moment. Lord knows how many much bigger things she's forgiven me for.
I may have missed the holy moment with Mary, Dear Reader, but I'm looking forward to sharing such moments with friends this holiday season by gifting them with Women of Courage, written and edited by Mary Carver. (FYI I received my order from Dayspring less than 48 hours after sending it.)
We all miss "it" sometimes, a text, a school program, lunch with a friend. Life is full of haste and distractions, isn't it? But, guess what? Jesus knows that.
Jesus knows we are frail and broken. All we have to do is remember He never runs out of time, grace, or holy moments to bless us with.
