Growing up, Mama made chocolate covered (fondant centered) cherries for the neighbors, church friends, and a few for us. Later, my sister, Nancy learned to make brownies, from scratch. The torch was being passed. Not known for being cuisine queen, when I discovered Reese's Peanut Butter Cups, I thought I'd visited culinary heaven.
And then God laughed. Tom is not a chocolate fan. Holy cow! How could somebody NOT like chocolate? Alas, what's a chocolate loving, dessert maniac to do! Thankfully, God took pity on my taste buds and gave me three children who also have chocolate fever. (That's not the sum or even remotely the best quality they share, but it's still a pretty good one.)
A while back a newsflash justified my crazy cravings: CHOCOLATE IS ACTUALLY GOOD FOR YOU!!! It's even included on some food pyramids. Yep, that tasty delight has wonderful antioxidants. Three cheers for dietitians!!!
What's your guilty pleasure? When was the last time you indulged yourself, just a little? What's holding you back?
